CHILDREN'S POETRY

This is poetry I have written about my family or about family in general! :)

MY LITTLE BOY  (FOR JOHANNES MY SON LIVING IN SPAIN)

Golden hair and eyes of brown, you are my little boy.

To be your mom through the years, has filled my heart with joy.

I use to tuck you into bed each night, and say a prayer.

Now sometimes being far from you, is more than I can bear.

I hear your laugh and see you smile, and then I feel the tears.

I remember your little ways, all through the years.

Though we're not together now, and your far away,

I love and miss you with my heart, each and every day!

MY SON JOHANNES    (FOR JOHANNES MY SON IN SPAIN)

Night and day I pray for you,

and wonder what you play and do.

Who are your friends, and do you like school?

What kind of things do you think are cool?

How I'd like to hold you near.

How I wish you were here.

Every night I hope and pray,

for that big golden day,

when I see YOU again!

A DAY WITH MY FAMILY

A day with my family, a treasure for sure.

The clear-crystal lake, the sky colored azure.

The gaity, the laughter, and oh, little Ray,

I could sit there forever just watching him play.

A day with my family, what more could there be,

playing and swimming, and feeling so free?

A pure precious moment, one day we took,

forever a memory, marked like a book!

MOTHER

A gentle touch and warming smile.

The one who'll go that extra mile.

A heart felt friend in time of woe,

and doesn't let her sadness show.

She brings you a hot cup of tea.

And prays with you on bended knee.

She loves you always, like no other.

A dearest friend, she is your mother.

FAMILY TIES (written for my husband Weylin and his son Brandon)

Come to me with your heart wide open.

Do not be afraid to come out of your shell.

I will give you my heart in return,

even though you do not know me well.

I'll tell you stories of my life,

and you share yours with me.

We'll take each step, day by day,

and become a family.

Do not be afraid to love me,

after all we've been through.

You will always be special in my heart.

And remember, I will always love you!

A FATHER'S LOVE

Mother's give shelter and warmth, when life storms seem too much,

with all her love and caring, and her heart-felt touch.

God in his heavens, pours out blessings from above,

showing the importance, of a father's love.

Siblings give the sharing, friends give the cheer,

that touches the soul, year after year.

The angels blow their trumpets, and sing from above,

"There is nothing to compare, with a father's love!"

JOY OF A CHILD

The joy of a child is better than gold.

It's a gift I will treasure, even when I'm old.

The bubbling laugh, so full of glee.

The simple way they say, "I love you mommy!"

They snuggle in your lap, like a cuddly bear.

They feel same and warm, knowing you are there.

They often play alone, but when they are through,

they spend the rest of their time with you.

They jump in their beds, and kiss you goodnight.

That's when you know, you've done everything right.

A gift and a treasure, sent from God above.

The joy of a child, all wrapped up in love!

IN THE WOODS

In the woods, where the Blueberries grow,

is where we often like to go.

Eating along the path,

as we merrily laugh,

where seeds so many years did sow.

Along the path is a Cedar tree,

standing tall, for all to see.

How we often grace,

this beautiful place,

just little Ray and me!

"Silence, they say,is the voice of complicity. But silence is impossible. Silence screams. Silence is the message, just as doing nothing is an act. Let who you are ring out and resonate in every word and deed. Yes,become who you are. There's no sidestepping your own being or your own responsibility. What you do is who you are. You are your own comeuppance. You become your own message. You are the message. In the Spirit of Crazy Horse."
 Leonard Peltier~ U.S. Federal Prisoner #89637-132

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness; but still will keep a bower quiet for us, and a sleep full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing."--John Keats
